It is not uncommon for most Zen 12 of us to tie in with congregations, groups of people that are led down a path proclaiming to be righteous yet are often misguided. Our leaders are men who use the Lord's name to draw us to them leaving us with little doubt in our minds that their cause is righteous. In any event we soon find ourselves boasters of a wiser knowledge able to challenge others and declare them lesser than we are. We become the unforgiven wielding judging others and their devotion.
In these groups we are led to believe that we are the chosen few, selected as a race above many to cast judgment on those that did not answer to our speech. In this way we are led into holy wars, crusades of vendetta administering on to others our believes and fueling the wrong messages and signals of what we believed we have learned from the Lord.
It is important that the head knows what its arms are doing and directs them in all their endeavors, hence it is crucial that who ever is chosen by us to lead us in our faith is aware of what our Lord desires of us.I received one of those forwarded emails this week. I usually try to at least skim through them before hitting DELETE, and occasionally I am rewarded with a gem.
